Spectroscopic studies on aggregation phenomena of dyes

Massoud Karimi Goftar, Kolsoum Moradi and Nasrollah Moradi Kor

In this article, aggregation (self association) phenomena of some dyes that have been investigated by spectroscopic studies were surveyed. Equilibrium constants and thermodynamic parameters of self association phenomena of the dyes are obtained by classic (like Benesi-Hildebrand) and chemometrics (like Kubista method) methods with the spectroscopic investigations. In general, the self association phenomena are classified into two types, H- and Jaggregates. The aggregation phenomena of dyes: rhodamine B, rhodamine 6G, Neutral Red, Nile Blue A, Safranine T, Thionine, Methylene blue, methylene green, thiazole orange and TO-3 which have been studied by spectroscopic investigations were surveyed in this paper.
